61 Olds 98 6 window, not too common anymore. Looks like an 85-86 Ciera in front of it.

Here’s hoping to double or triple the last snowfall.

Not too common, but not that desirable to many, either.

As an added negative, it would have been originally equipped with a 394 and a Slim Jim. The latter is a POS transmission, and from what I’ve read, the 394 isn’t easy to bolt a different trans to.

Still, I hope someone saves this before the frame touches dirt.

Surprised it wasn’t scrapped around the time that Ciera was new. I suspect there’s a story behind it, and the Ciera. Strangely enough, there’s a lovely blue example of this same model I see now and then in my area .

Rust moves slowly here as you can see with this car, but as you say, parking it on the ground won’t help.

Parking it on the ground will be the death of it, but it looks salvage able right now.

Odds are high that it got parked due to the transmission failing.  ‘61-64 Oldsmobiles seem to be more rare these days and that shit transmission is probably why.  Unlike the Pontiac 389, the 394 was never really mated to anything else, so the best way to repair a bad trans in these cars is to throw it - *and the engine* away and drop in a newer engine/trans combo.

Web vixen? Sadly the 4 cylinder in it,   isn’t as exciting.

S ad the 4 cylinder means there is no chance of the manual. It is very pretty. Still the correct choice of car.

Those ‘61 Oldsmobiles have one of my favorite 60's rear ends (especially in 2-door form) .

Kinja'd!!!

Although as a complete design I might prefer the ‘ 60 model.

This post may or may not have been largely an excuse to post this cool photo from 70's Sweden.

It ’d still take awhile here. I bet that car has been outside for many years. Maybe the moss on the ground is protection or something.

Sad thing about this is that it isn’t worth much even if pristine, few would bother to rescue it, not to mention a power train swap.

It isn’t going to make financial sense to save this car, in all likelihood, and hardly anyone has the desire to save a 4 door.  Too bad.

Yep, even if in a condition that would make rust belt people drool, it isn’t viable to restore. A good paint job would cost more than the value of an immaculate car.
